Our church wedding in the Philippines

Finally I will show you guys a slideshow of photos taken by our wedding photographer Jaja Samaniego.

The preparation was in Midas Hotel (former Hyatt) near Intramuros, where our church wedding was celebrated.

The ceremony was held in San Agustin Church, a church as old as Manila (1571) and such a wonderful and gorgeous place.

The reception was in the Inner Garden of San Agustin with a small fountain in the middle, where turtles lived in.

Our wedding cake was made from the cake artist Mrs. Judy Uson, who justifiably is known for her artisticly made cakes!

The music was featured by Stradavarius String Ensemble, an often booked band for festive occasions.

My wedding gown is from Enzoani, the wedding shoes are from Christian Louboutin.

This day was the best day of our life, so special, so familiar and never-to-be-forgotten!

On Valentines day my groom and me said YES and it is so wonderful and breathtaking.

Right now I´m preparing our church wedding in the Philippines and I´m getting more and more excited about that.

Happy New Year to everbody passing by!

Since months I´m busy in planning my wedding in the Philippines, but I´m caught in Germany.

By now the church is reserved, I´ve found my wedding gown, our wedding rings and all the small things that you need on you special day.

My shoes are ordered at net-a-porter and I´m waiting for their arrival.

My last vehement challenge is to lose some weight, at least 8 pounds!

Normally I do lose some when I quit eating carbohydrates; but it´s the coldest winter I can remember and my body is screaming for food!

Does somebody has a really good hint what to do to reduce some weight within 2 weeks!?! Then will be the fitting for my gown.. Please?

It´s been a long time since my last entry.. A lot of shit, but more beautiful and pleasant things happened the last three months:

My occupational career changed a lot: as in many posts told I was working together with my father in our restaurant. The emphasis is WAS. I changed a lot and got more self-confident, did not like everything some people did and in consequence stopped working there. This was the most impressive event I experienced my whole life and maybe this was the reason I did not blogged the past months, carving my decision in stone. But it´s okay, it´s time to spread my wings and make my very own experiences though leaving a secure existence.

I established my café in the museum I´ve started in June. By now the profitability is better than ever expected and I´m looking forward to the next season. Most of the employees there are adorable and especially the Christmas staff party was great!

Our wedding plans got more and more concrete, but I still cannot tell which choices regarding to the dresses and rings I made. Next week I´m going to try some Vera Wang pieces, hoping that I can afford some of them. Yes, I know: cancel the luxe edition!!

To this day the plan is to marry in Germany and the Philippines, the first phase of interviews with the priest are successfully made.

I hope that this post helps me to find my joy that I felt before while blogging.

Die Landesbühne Niedersachsen bewirbt bereits ihr Theaterstück für den März 2011:

Woyzeck von Georg Büchner

Als unsere Schulklasse dieses Theaterstück besuchte, wurden wir von unserer damaligen Lehrerin begleitet. Die Anfangsszene begann mit einem nackten Woyzeck im Glaskasten, der über die Bühne gezogen wurde.

Alle Blicke fielen auf unsere Lehererin: Denn sie war Nonne! ;o)

Our local theatre is promoting the upcoming play for next year: Georg Büchner´s Woyzeck.
I remember when I went to that play with my class some years ago:
The character Woyzeck was pulled across the stage in a glass case, mother-naked.

All glances and glimpses went to our woman teacher: She was a nun! ;o)

I´ve cut my hair, I really did it. After ten years with extra-long hair I went to the hairdresser of my trust and let him cut! I think half of the length is lost.. or am I rid of it?!

Eshramo in Bad Zwischahn

Today we went to the Eshramo in Bad Zwischenahn, approximately 40 km from Wilhelmshaven away. The service was really fantastic ( I know what I´m talking about!), the wine was great and the menu at this evening offered everything we could desire.

We truly had some awesome dinner!:

Meeting with aunt Marlou

This week I was so glad to meet my godaunt Marlou. She moved to California 8 years ago and I really missed her! Marvin, with whom I brotherly grew up with joined her. We had some lunch in our restaurant with some German asparagus, sole and Wiener Schnitzel. ;o)

Unfortunately she has to leave today, but we´ll see each other next year in the Philippines, based on Adamo´s and my marriage.

Hope, the planning will start in a few months, still don´t have the time..

Should I wear glasses or not?

I´m wearing these Fendi glasses for a long time now and they are my favourite ones. But you can imagine that wearing them everyday wore them out. The problem is that I cannot find really good alternatives.

That´s why I´m thinking about using contact lenses, what do you guys think?

On the one hand I look more friendly without glasses but on the other hand these glasses detract attention from my moon face. What shall I do?!

It´s hard to find the right path in life that you want to tread. As long as I went to school and also during my studies I always was someone who got along with everybody, never rubbed somebody the wrong way.

But since I´ve started working and got to know really different kinds of people with different characters, from different places or with a different faith I had to think about my inner part of an innocent girl, being friendly to everybody, just to be liked. Every day I agonize what every single person I meet at the day might have been thinking about me. Especially when I fail or my team is failing I almost become insane. Maybe two years ago nobody recognized when I got angry about that. But then I realized that this had to stop: Everything I bottled up inside corroded me likewise. So:

Face the truth, or not?

Daul Kims suicide caused a lot of blog posts, comments, condolence, news and taking-the-inward-turn to many people. Some bloggers (like Lulu Chang) spoke truly and once again revealed that they´re not the lucky girls that people think they are.

I´m a kind of girl who self-reflects herself everyday in every moment. When I read Lulu´s words I thought: "How can you indirect offend all of the other bloggers who created a perfect world in the world wide web?!? Maybe they need it."

But then I realised that she was so right. Why create a blog in which you just show your almost perfect life (I´m still not good in doing that; there are many posts in which I decry myself)?

Always just posting the positive and beautiful things, showing the world that you´re living a perfect life?! For whom? Nobody´s going to feel better when you´re keeping an superficial blog, just wanting other bloggers or readers to envy you, follow you and tell you how beautiful and great you are.

When I began to blog I never wanted to run such a personal blog Lulu described, but it literally turned to one of those. How I recognized that?

- Sometimes I buy stuff just because I think it would look great in a pic of this blog
- I myself am the one who envies other bloggers (for a fucking pair of shoes or the figure)
- I´ve achieved a person in this blog which is not really me, but when I´m surfing around in the blogosphere I really do think that I´m this person who sits in front of her PC, dressed up from head to toe
- I´m posting about food because I love food; but I really do hate eating it:
The whole concept of me is dishonest
EDIT: No, I looove eating! ;o)
- The world is not ideal, I´m pretending it
- I´m controlled by the fear that my blog will be found from people I know (or from my region) and that they get to know me more than I want to; an idealized Laarni is not attackable (but on the other side I´m flattered when I get in touch with people who want to report about me)

Why I´m telling the world (or five readers;...; oh, there´s the decrying Laarni again) all of this?
Maybe it´s a winter depression, a moment of loneliness or because a 20 year-old Supermodel, who in the eyes of many people ought to be a happy girl, commited suicide.

It could happen that I´m going to delete this post in a while again: the inner monster in me, who wanted to create this enviable blogger, may prevail and end the honesty. Thanks for reading.

Today I got to know Tina, who is a student of journalism at our university here in Wilhelmshaven.
Why I got to know her?

She contacted me and asked if I would be interested in an interview with her and tell her more about blogging and stuff like that. Her aspiration is to report about the local blogosphere here in Wilhelmshaven, to explain the motif of blogging and to discuss if blogging is a kind of journalism for the modern world, even for young and old people.

Hopefully I´m able to show you the result in March, when the insert "impuls.nordwest" will be published with the daily newspapers of this region.

After visiting the new Columbia hotel for some times we bethought ourself of the Alkhoven and went there last week. It was stunning, so delicious!

Adamo had a soup of triple kinds of Paprika with breaded scallops and I had carpaccio of a calb.

The mean meal was
Adamo: stripes of beef tenderloin

Me: stewed deerloin with potato gratin

Our dessert: banana crème brûlée with a fruit composition, godlike!!

I´m presenting you a typical German meal named Labskaus.

It´s made of corned beef, mashed potatoes, onions, beetrootjuice, the juice of pickled cucumbers and normally with some young herring.
But this one is made without fish.

Just add some beetroots, pickled cucumbers, (rolled pickled herring) and fried eggs:

Really, I like flowers and plants, trees and all of the flora and fauna.

I didn´t say anything when they temporarily stored their garbage in the hall with some smell I almost pughed from (I really almost did!!). I didn´t complain when there was a little flower standing there. But during the last week this jungle increased and I´m feeling threatend by some ignorant neighbors.

Today I drove past Joe Jackson at our coastal promenade.
The whole day I was thinking of how I would have reacted when I past by as a pedestrian.

In my childhood I was a huge Michael Jackson fan, including the collection of pillows and other memorabilia. Due to this on the one hand I really felt annoyance towards this foreign man without actually knowing the truth of the whole Jackson story.

On the other hand I saw a little, old man, walking behind this tall bodyguard, but otherwise completely alone. Isolated from all the rumors in my eyes a pitiful man.

Now my question to you guys:

a) Wave to this man and give him a smile?

b) Show him the finger?

I ignored him..

One evening my bf called me to bring him some clothes to the hospital; he had a cruciate rupture and broke his tibial plateau.

Okay, I had to take care of him for one week but didn´t know that I by myself had a needle in my left foot for two weeks. After two painy days (I had the needle in for 10! days already) I was sent to have an X-ray. Tada, the needle was found and Adamo and me shared the same room! Hihi

Nobody is able to split us..

As a result of Nina´s prevention at my little family celebration for my diploma we went to the Columbia for dinner today. For me that meant having some fine food again, compared with my favourite fashionvictim!

One year before I couldn´t believe that now, in this moment, I am holding my diploma in hands!
We had a nice lunch in the new local Columbia Hotel. Unfortunately the gourmet restaurant Marc O´Polo just opens for dinner, so we had to be pleased with the "Harbour View", the second, "ordinary" restaurant of the hotel:

Pasta squares filled with veal shank

Saddle of lamb with a mustard-shallots-crackling, tomatojus and pestognocchi

Dessert: Cremé bruleé with sweet woodruff

Cremé of white chocolate with raspberries

The guys are smoking way too much: "Oh honeys, we´ll just grap some fresh air.. in the Davidoff Lounge!"

My parents gave me this Ebel Classic watch: the Roman clock-face stands for my third foreign language, Latin (of course there had to be a scholastic theme in this gift), and the nacre reflects my Philippine origin on my mother´s side, and the fact that my Dad chose the watch did his bit. I love this gift so much already and can´t wait to wear it!

BMW Sailing Cup

Driving a BMW is not enough to show my affection for this brand: As in 2008 we supported the BMW Sailing Cup in Wilhelmshaven with our catering. After weeks of planning the sailing regatta for amateurs 2009 is already over. Hopefully there will follow a BMW SC 2010!

Hof Herten

Während wir auf der Jagd nach etwas Essbarem zufällig in Jever landeten, erspähten wir eine kleine Schloßkäserei, die selbstgemachten Käse und zudem selbstgebackenes Brot anbot.

Der Hof Herten bietet neben biologisch hergestellten Lebensmitteln außerdem Schaffelle und weitere Schafprodukte an, die bodenverträgliche und artgerechte Landwirtschaft voraussetzen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und warmherzig; ich als Gastronomin kann da nur den Hut ziehen. Solltet Ihr also irgendwann mal in Jever Halt machen, besucht den Hof Herten!

Eine Anmerkung wäre da allerdings: Ich würde das Speisenangebot um ein paar Eier vom Bauerhof erweitern. Eier, Käse und dazu frisches Brot sind ein Traum!

Cruising around in our region we found a tiny little house belonging to a chesse dairy, offering some self made cheese and bread. The in-house sheep farm offers just organically produced food and sheep products.

Moreover the waitress was very friendly and warmhearted. So, if you pass by Jever, you have to visit Hof Herten!

One improvement suggestion to the owners: Add some country eggs to your menue, I love eggs and cheese with some fresh bread, a perfect match!

After finishing my studies I needed to take a rest from everything I made before, including photoshoots, writing and shopping (really!). During my pause some shoes and clothes from my actions before arrived which I want to show bit by bit.

Yesterday my new Tristan Blairs arrived and I apparently took them on... and was really disappointed. After almost two months of waiting they didn´t meet my expectations:
The wedge is made of smelling plastic, I think you can smell the glue as well;
The leather already has little scratches and by the end they do not flatter the feet and the calves of the wearer.

After sighting my recent posts I thought: "People must think that you´re a superficial girl, just shopping shoes and clothes, everything´s positive and she has to hide something!"

Of course I´m not shopping all day, I´m working really hard, not just to mention the hard manual work, but also carrying a heavy responsibility for our employees I have to take care of. And besides I only have a few days left for my diploma thesis which I should work on right now.

I hardly believed my eyes when I saw this little jacket from YSL for kids in my mom´s closet! Then I remembered that my brother wore this in his childhood.

I was scandalized of her that she bought him such nice stuff [gosh, he´s just a boy! ;o)] and I had to wear this clothes every child had to wear (just think of your childhood clothes, weren´t they ugly in a grey or beige toned colour?!). Come on!

I had to compensate that shock with buying some beautiful miu miu sandals! haha!

In the evening we went for dinner at a local restaurant and treated ourselves to some fine food:

So wie jeder Blogger in den letzten oder kommenden Tagen seine Vorsätze für das Jahr 2009 hinterlässt, werde ich dem folgen und auch welche aufstellen:

1. Ich werde meine Diplomarbeit zum Ende bringen, keine Ausreden mehr!

2. Ich werde mich öfter bei meiner Familie melden. Erinnere mich daran, Oma!

3. Ich werde weniger arbeiten, haha! Ich werde es wirklich versuchen!

4. Ich werde im 1. Quartal auf die Philippinen fliegen!

5. zu guter Letzt werde ich meine Posts nicht nur auf Bilder mit wenig Text beschränken, sondern die Textarbeit ausbauen, ich habe schließlich auch etwas zu sagen! ;o)

Ach ja, dem setze ich noch einen drauf: Ein paar Zeilen sollen nun auch ins Englische übersetzt werden, die Globalisierung holt auch mich ein.

Heute habe ich im Auftrag des Rotaract Club Wilhelmshaven (die jungen Rotarier), bei dem ich zur Zeit reinschnuppere, Glühwein an der FH verkauft. Gespendet wird der Erlös an den Wendepunkt e. V.. Dieser Verein ermöglicht zum Beispiel Kindern an Schulen ein Mittagessen, da es verhäuft zu Hause keine regelmäßigen warmen Mahlzeiten mehr gibt.
